Sustainable, Ethical, Environment-Friendly Pearl NecklacesPearls are among the most environmentally friendly types of jewellery anyway and Seepearls aims to take it a stage further. Watch the and judge for yourself.
Necklaces are backed by our .
7-8mm pearls are often called 'the world favourite' because they're the most popular size purchased today, while 8-9mm pearls are a runaway best-seller for pearl wedding anniversaries, 30th, 40th, 50th birthdays and Christmas. All our necklaces are hand-knotted on multiple strands of silk thread for extra strength and durability. Eighteen inches is easily the most popular length, but we can make any length you want.
6-7mm pearls are suitable for all ages and occasions - from teenagers to grandmothers, from shopping trips to weddings, whereas for more formal wear, these double-strand necklaces feature two rows of Grade AAA 7-8mm pearls. 16"/18" is the most popular.
Keshi (or Keishi) pearls form when the mollusc rejects the nucleus and makes it's own pearl. Keshi pearls are noted for their free-form shape and shimmering rainbow lustre. Oval shaped pearls sometimes develop when two growing pearls join together. Oval pearls offer a lot of pearl for your money.
Unless featured in movies involving pirates, black pearls are rarely ‘black’ but come in diverse shades of green, blue, gold, silver, grey, copper and more. To make necklaces that are distinctive, unique and very pleasing to the eye, we break up different coloured strands and mix complementary pearls together. For extra strength and durability, necklaces are hand-knotted on multiple strands of silk thread.
Most people haven't heard of fantail (or fireball) pearls because the culturing procedure is a recent innovation. The partnership between man and mollusc is the same as for South Sea pearls, but in a non-marine environment.
Necklaces (except double-strand necklaces), are fitted with hypoallergenic stainless steel carabiner clasps as shown left. They're light, strong (much tougher than gold or silver), scratch-resistant and won't tarnish or corrode.
